A project director since 2007, Ryan crafts messages, manages campaigns and provides technical and creative direction for a diverse group of clients, including CAN TV, the Great Lakes and St. Lawrence Cities Initiative and U.S. Cellular.
Ryan comes to CG&A with experience in nonprofit communications and marketing, having served as manager of communications and previously as public affairs coordinator at Planned Parenthood/Chicago Area. He also brings a background in broadcast journalism, including feature story reporting for nationally distributed public radio programs and local hosting of NPR’s All Things Considered® at WUKY-FM in Lexington, KY.
Ryan holds a Bachelor of Science in psychology from Bradley University and a Master of Arts in international development and communications from the Patterson School of Diplomacy and International Commerce at the University of Kentucky - where he also served on the President's Commission on the Status of Women. He currently serves on the ACLU of Illinois Young Advocates Steering Committee, the Crossroads Fund Development Committee and manages a family memorial scholarship for high school students.
An avid traveler, Ryan has shared space with scorpions in Central America, trekked to Mt. Everest base camp, tracked the “Big Five” in South Africa and toured Tokyo’s temples and train stations. He also dreams about basketball more than he actually plays.
