Mayor Richard M. Daley:
Mayor's Hemispheric Forum - Chicago 2007

Objective

mhf1.jpgIn May 2007, CG&A was hired by Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley to brand and manage the Mayors Hemispheric Forum—Chicago 2007, a three-day summit of mayors from South America, Canada, Latin America and the United States. As the first event of its kind in Chicago, Mayor Daley requested that the conference materials conveyed the attractiveness of the event and the city to an international audience.

The objective of the event was to convene mayors from across North America in Chicago to share best practices around security, globalization and the environment. Industry experts and mayors from major cities, including Miami, Rio de Janeiro and Toronto, exchanged key learnings and ideas for real-life solutions to challenges facing urban areas throughout the hemisphere.

CG&A conducted message development and audience research to develop a program that included three receptions and two keynote speaker luncheons. CG&A designed the forum’s brand identity, managed the three-day program, oversaw VIP logistics, and developed audience-tailored marketing collateral that required translation in three languages.

CG&A also created a customized sponsorship package and reached out to local businesses and international stakeholders to obtain funding for the event.

CG&A developed well-designed materials that showcased Chicago as a world-class destination. The success of the event was clear when nearly 40 mayors convened on the last day and made plans to continue the Mayors Hemispheric Forum as an annual event.
