Integrated Marketing Intern
Fast-paced, growing strategic communications firm seeks a paid intern to work on a variety of projects. The intern will assist the marketing projects for nonprofit, government and corporate clients as well as in-house marketing efforts for the firm. CG&A’s marketing services include branding; message development; marketing research, planning and implementation; social media outreach and development of brochures, websites, newsletters, annual reports and other materials.
Candidate should possess/demonstrate:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills along with an understanding of marketing communications
- Knowledge and command of social media tools, including measurement and tracking methods
- Experience using social media to advocate for policy issues, advance political campaigns or promote business goals
- Meticulous attention to detail and organization with an understanding of project management
- Eagerness to collaborate with a team and openness to accepting direction and training from senior staff, without being micromanaged
- A high degree of follow-through and responsibility with the ability to think and act independently and appropriately represent the firm in all situations
- High work standards and a focus on client service
Responsibilities:
The Marketing Intern is responsible for a full range of marketing services provided to internal and client groups; including:
- Writing copy and developing content with clarity in a variety of styles for client and firm communications, including e-newsletters, websites and business proposals.
- Researching and creating memos for client and internal needs
- Supporting social media initiatives for government, non-profit or corporate clients
- Supporting internal social media initiatives
- Working with graphic designers and other vendors to develop collateral, websites and print/e-mail campaigns.
- Developing and coordinating mailings, researching issues and updating marketing materials and databases, as needed.

Qualifications:
Required:
- At least a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Business, Marketing, or Communications
- Substantial experience with social media and web 2.0 tools and platforms
- Excellent writing and proofreading skills
- Expertise in computer applications – Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
Strongly Preferred:
- Understanding of media, community organizations or elected officials in Chicago and Illinois
- Experience working within diverse communities
Candidate must be able to work 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Monday-Friday (plus additional hours when necessary). The internship will have an initial duration of 3 months, with the possibility for an extension or a permanent position with the firm. Intern salary begins at $11 per hour.
